Homework

ok i have this theory about homework...
a long time ago kids didn't go to school because it was their duty to work on the farm.
then when it was ok for the poor people to get an education they never got homework because they still went home to work on their farm with the family. But when technology came along then the old people wasn't sure what to do with the kids since the farming work was done with tech.
then all the kids got homework to keep them busy at home and out of trouble...
my point is that we shouldn't have homework because we are busy without the homework with our friends and going shopping and the chores our parents make us do....what is your point of view?

  1. "...the old people wasn't sure what to do with the kids..."??? I know what to do with them: urge them to study their English grammar. You don't work on a farm, darling, so use this opportunity to do your homework, thereby improving yourself and improving your chances to succeed in this world. It's not easy; don't screw up out of sheer laziness. Work is good for you--I promise.

  2. Like Rick said. One more thing: homework totally sucks and it's unfair and teachers assign way more than necessary. Some things (like math) need repetition, and you do need to read history and books outside the classroom so you can discuss them during class time. But if you think a teacher is giving a disproportionate amount of homework, discuss it with them. Don't use the "it's not fair" argument--that never works. But tell them you want to have enough energy to focus on what you need to learn, as opposed to what looks like busy-work. Remain reasonable and calm, and they should treat you like an adult.
